I would not recommend. I tried calling for a week straight to try to get an order for my cousin’s birthday because she cannot have artificial dyes. I never could get an answer, so I went this morning in person. They are absolutely rude! I know they sell out quick because they are popular among some people. So there was a limited selection when I went. I asked the man working if any of the donuts on the cooling racks would be done anytime soon because the donuts they had currently my cousin can not have. The man behind the counter was so rude! He rolled his eyes and told me what was out was all they had and I could pick from those, and if I didn’t see anything I wanted I could leave.
I used to love Hole Lotta Donuts when they first opened because the food was amazing and the staff was phenomenal!
I will not be back after the poor service and disrespect I received today.
Great selection, Very good tasting, highly recommend. Not many places selling doughnuts that fresh. I recommend going on a Saturday, it’s busier, but they keep them coming and that’s your best chance to catch one hot!
Great staff, had one girl working the front, but she held her composure well even with a line to the door!
Firstly, I wanna say reading some of those recent views, I think sometimes people like to stretch the truth because of my experience is to be believed, this place is awesome.
They had a great selection out, super friendly girl working the front (who makes an amazing Hot chocolate btw.), and when they was out of a certain type I wanted, the cook offered to hand dip me a fresh one, and was super helpful on questions I had about the store and the county.
No one there seemed cranky, upset, matter of fact it was one of the friendliest bunch I came across in Ashe thus far.
I’m not one for reviews, but seeing some of the complaints the ones left. I just wanted to share my positive experience! Go try it for yourself.
Disappointed..went at 9am and they had 3 flavors of donuts. No fritters! The guy getting our donuts had bare hands and I noticed this as he had blue nail polish on with frosting all over it. The baker said he would have more of a selection and fritters around 1 as he was busy this morning and will bring some out for beer fest or beer tasting later. 3 employees and nothing had been made. Promise you my donuts were day old..Went to Boone location and they were much friendlier and had plenty of everything and fresh.
The donuts are excellent. However, I wanted to order ahead because I know they sell fast. I tried calling for two days and could not get an answer. I ended up having to make 2 different trips to West Jefferson to get the donuts I wanted.
I only gave them 3 stars because sometimes the service is hit and miss, and because I had to make two different trips.
My granddaughter is addicted to these donuts.
The building was nice, with parking across the street. The donuts were a light, fluffy bread consistency. These are large donuts (the size of a child’s head), almost as much as having two each. The cream filled is close to a regular size. They have some unique flavors like strawberry fritters and peanut butter or maple donuts. The price of 1/2 dozen is just a little high at a couple dollars more than a standard dozen at a chain. This location has just started offering pastries as well.
$3 per donut. It used to be that the size of the donut justified the price. However, the donuts have just been downsized, and the ones I purchased were only slightly larger than ordinary donuts but at a price about 2 to 3 times higher. I'd recommend finding either the secret recipe that makes everybody want to come back and pay $$$ for a donut or making the donuts larger to make it so people don't feel like they are paying a super donut's price in exchange for an average donut.
My family arrived 1.5 hrs before closing. There was nothing to choose from as far as inventory goes. Few donuts and a long line behind us. This place will soon be a grave yard like many others if there’s no intervention by owners/managers. date 11/10/23
